Question How to check kernal version?

I need MPPE capability so I went to a site to download ppp rpm, however, I need to know what kernal version I have. I know that I have 2.4.20 (RH9), however, there are downloads for...

2.4.20-20.9
2.4.20-19.9
2.4.20-19.0
etc...

Can anyone tell me how to check my kernal version?

uname -r for the direct release, but you might want to try updating your kernel to the latest stable release, 2.4.21

Thanks for the help...

And I stand corrected... k-e-r-n-e-l, not k-e-r-n-a-l!
