Angry how to check bandwidth in linux


how to check the amount of bandwith my total network is using-any linux command?I have a proxy running redhat 6 enterprise.

If you're just interested in the traffic through one card (the internet facing one of your proxy for example) you could just run iftop.

iptraf with logging turned on and maybe linked to rrdtool for a graphical view.

i just use conky, shows upload and download as well as speed.
