how do you change dual boot linuxmint/win 10 to win 10 first

just installed linuxmint 18.3 on a win 10 dell 500GB hard drive 4GB ram i have it dual boot and the first screen has linuxmint as 1st option and windows as 3rd option and it automatically goes to linux if i don't jump on it to change to windows
i want to make windows the first option that it automatically chooses if i don't do anything
i tried advanced startup options in windows and changed the boot order in the UEFI ? BIOS ? to windows first but i don't get the option for linux at all in that without a lot of steps and screens

the graphic user interface in mint is not unfamiliar as i'm from windows but i'm not quite there with comnmand line stufff [its been a long time since DOS 3.2]

i saw a web page about grub-customizer the commands i copied by rote didn't get that to my machine that i know of

i changed the UEFI boot order back to linux first as that gave me both as a choice and i'm paying attn to it so i can pick windows

OK, in order to get Windows first you must make it the default in the grub boot loader. This will tell you how: https://askubuntu.com/questions/5296...he-boot-loader

I assume that grub edit is correct.

Just to point this out.
Boot order in bios could be a reason but you'd find that using linux command efibootmgr to see what is active and what is possible.

Be aware that these edits are somewhat fragile - if Win10 changes its id string, you will have to redo the update. No big deal, but worth remembering. Also note you can increase the menu timeout whilst in /etc/default/grub.
