Google Chrome Installation Error : "E: dpkg interrupted , google-chrome-stable package installation interrupted"

Hello;
I am a complete newbie to Linux.
I have downloaded the current version of Ubuntu and installed it on a PC.
Clean install; not parallel to a Windows OS.
Then downloaded the Google Chrome for Linux and started installation.
I tried it several times but every time the installation stalled and
I got the error message (in similar words..)
"E: dpkg interrupted, google-chrome-stable package installation interrupted"
I would appreciate your help.

Welcome to LQ forums.

To correct things, open a Terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) and run this command:

sudo dpkg --configure -a

If that still throws an error then, to fix broken packages, run:

sudo apt install -f

Follow this by repeating:

Code:

sudo dpkg --configure -a
