Unhappy getting java


I am running Ubuntu 8.10 and Yahoo is my homepage. I enjoy playing Text Twist on Yahoo Games,but it won't load because Java has not been installed. I have gone to Java Download page and tried to down it but to no avail. If anyone can help I would be very greatful.P.S. I am very new at using computers.

Hi, welcome to LQ!

Start up synaptic (or the gnome default package manager)
and search for sun java ... and get it that way.

java and ubuntu

Hi Tink, Thanx so much for your help so far, but I now have another problem. There are quite a few java programs in my package manger. Do you have any idea which one I should start with?. Thanx in advance.
