[SOLVED] establish an internet connection using eth0 into an arris modem winxp already on

I have an old(gutsy--7) linux on a second pc.i wish to establish a internet connection with an arris modem(can handle 4(?) pcs. i already have my windows xp working with the modem. what do i need(ethernet cable)? can it be done automatically? any other device(s)?

I asume its an ADSL modem, and you want to run XP *and* Gutsy off of it.

XP of course finds it, and works with it..

Hook gutsy to the modem with a Cat5 cord *like the one on XP*
But.. look for ppoe packages in your package mamager to install as DSL is very different from normal cable conections. Those packages *may* help you auto configure your networking.
