Error when doing "Apt-get install apache"

On a debian box trying to install perl and gettting it to properly work and error comes up when typing "apt-get install apache". the error goes something like this ( I can have the full error messsage in a few ):

"Your perl is not configured" and such

What can I do to fix this as its quite crucial that it be done soon?
