The mail server is sending 25 of the same message every time a user checks mail. This started when a user sent a message to a mail list for the college and I can't get it to stop. I have rebooted twice the first time a shutdown of snmp failed but the second time it shut down ok, I noticed in the /var/spool mail a user name listed as BOGUS.nmilan.c96 and deleted it but the dups continue, is it a virus?

I don't think it's a virus.
As far as i know, procmail creates such BOGUS-files if there is a mail-delievery problem.
Have you checked you /var/log/mail for error-messages?
