DHCP linux


Can I expand dhcp pool on linux server without restarting the server

You should not need to restart the server, but you will need to log out and then back in.

I tried to change the dhcpd.conf file. everytime i restart the dhcpd service, the file reverts back to its previous status. Thus no ip ranges are modified at all. how to overcome this issue. thnks

Sorry for not getting back. Are you sure you saved your changes to the file? If so we can try making it read only.
