Question Desktop - Open Windows Stick to Corners

Thanks for your help!

I'm learning Linux using SLES 9 with a KDE GUI.

Problem:
While using the KDE desktop, when I open a Terminal window or Konqueror windows, each window will lock it'self to one corner of my screen and cannot be moved to another locatoin on the desktop. With the mouse and attempting a MOVE (4-arrow cursor), it looks like the windows should be repositionable on my screen but they are "stuck" to their assigned corners and will not move. They will re-size but not move.

Question:
How do I disable the Locked-Windows feature, and allow the moving of Terminal and Konqueror windows to any location on my desktop?

Thank You,
Randy Graves

I've never run into this problem before... but I have a guess. I could be wrong though.

There is a feature called "snap zones" that is built into KDE. When you set one window down near another, it is supposed to snap over and connect the sides. It sounds to me like the feature is either set WAY too high, or is malfunctioning.

Try opening up the KDE Control Panel and going to Desktop-> Window Behavior-> Moving, and play around with the "Snap Zones" settings.
