Hi! We need more information to give good solid advice on this. How did you install them? More back story would help a lot.

It is an Epson printer that I have had for about 12 years and I am getting a new one and am wondering if the old drivers would cause any problem with the new printer. I downloaded the drivers for it from the Epson website and never had a problem until lately and I believe it is time to replace it. I would appreciate any help with this.

Since Ubuntu has been upgraded several times since I got my current printer I was wondering if ubuntu has drivers for printers included now in the O/S now.

It would help to know the make/model of the new printer, but I think it's unlikely that old drivers would interfere with the new ones.

JDWheel,

I recommend you look at these two links in the light of IPP Everywhere, CUPS and Legacy Printer Applications:

Legacy printers and the new driverless IPP printing architecture:

I don't think Ubuntu, or any distro for that matter, tries to include drivers for all types of printers. There are just too many of them. (Though some distros do include HPLIP by default).

I don't have an Epson, but I found a tutorial that might help.
