We are running LDAP on one of the most current distro's of Redhat, and just this week we started having problems emailing to one specific domain. All the emails that we send to someone on this domain will bounce back with the message that it could not deliver the email and that you should not resend it because it will continue to try and send it for 5 days. If I type in mailq at the prompt, I have about 80 emails all waiting to send for the past three days or so. Here is a sample of some of the messages that I am seeing with the mailq command:

Some of them say read error, others say connection timed out. Any idea on what may be causing this?

I don't recall seeing a read error before in the maillogs but have you tried seeing if the connection is open with telnet? Try to send a message manually.
