Debian Jessie Can't Choose Desktop

I have installed Debian Jessie on a machine that was running Squeeze for the last four years.

At installation I marked both Gnome and KDE for the desktop. I can find no way to choose at the login manager, it starts right in to Gnome. I do remember choosing Gnome as default at one step in installation.

Where do I choose the desktop to start?

Thanks.

There may be a panel at the top of the login screen with some icons, this is where the selection is made. I don't know what login manager is installed so this is just a guess but the DE choice is always made at the login screen...

jogl z 8,

If I understand you correctly, you wish to change the default Desktop Environment from Gnome to KDE?

Two ways:

1. In Terminal:

Code:
$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure gdm
OR

2. Open the file /etc/X11/default-display-manager

Code:
$ sudo nano /etc/X11/default-display-manager
For KDE use this text, then Save:

# FILE : /etc/X11/default-display-manager
/usr/lib/kde4/bin/kdm
.........................................................

For Gnome use this text, then Save:

# FILE : /etc/X11/default-display-manager
/usr/sbin/gdm

Finally Reboot.
