Creating xorg config file


Okay so I am trying to create file xorg.conf

I use debian so I am using this: wiki.debian.org/Xorg

I have tried to follow the "What if I do not have an xorg config file" part.

When I get to
Xorg -configure
I get errors. I have no idea what is going on.

The reason I want an xorg config file is because I want to run compiz. wiki.debian.org/compiz instructs to edit something in the xorg.conf.

Here is my log file if it helps ( i think it is the correct one )

I am posting mine in hoping it will work with your distro. This xorg.conf is from a slackware box I play with from time to time.

We need more information:
1. Which hardware?
2. What does your self-created xorg.conf contain?
3. Are you sure it is needed to create one (do you have tried to run compiz without xorg.conf)?

@/dev/random: Your xorg.conf will only work if the OP has Nvidia hardware and the proprietary Nvidia driver installed.

While this is true, it gives him something to modify for his own hardware, I have ran into the problem he is having before on the debian sparc port, where xorg just won't generate a config file because of a device it can't find in a traditional way or that it assumes it is there by default but there is no support for it in the kernel so the device doesn't really exist, xorg is just hard coded to think it's always there.

Seems you don't have a frame buffer device or xorg likes to think so anyways.
