Exclamation Couldn't Read DVD Data Discs Properly

Hello,

I've been Googling around for a few hours now, but can't seem to find the right answer to my problem. Uhmm.. how do I put this? Ok well, I'll try my hardest to explain it to you so you got it clearly. I just successfully installed Wine through synaptic package manager. well now, I'm trying to install adobe photoshop cs from a DVD. The dvd data discs kind. Well, I clicked on setup.exe and it suppose to automatically open Wine and go through the install process (I know this b/c I did it in my other pc without any problems). But instead it doesn't recognize the exe file and so nothing happens. In fact, it didn't recognize any of the file types in the DVD. So I guess that it didn't read dvd data discs properly.

So I tried to install adobe photoshop 7 from a CD just to see if it reads CD properly and it built flawlessly (and it recognized the exe file type and every file types in the CD).

Anybody can help me with this? I suppose it have something to do with the fstab file.

Looking forward for answers,
SugarBlush

Thank you.

First try to run setup with wine <mount_point>/setup.exe, or check it type with file <mount_point>/setup.exe. If it fails you can complain.

yea, it failed.
I type this on Konsole

wine /mnt/cdrom /media/Photoshop CS 05/Adobe Photoshop CS 8.0/setup.exe

But I got this

wine: could not load L"D:\\.": Invalid handle

So I type this

file /mnt/cdrom /media/Photoshop CS 05/Adobe Photoshop CS 8.0/setup.exe

and I got this

/mnt/cdrom: directory
/media/Photoshop: cannot open `/media/Photoshop' (No such file or directory)
CS: cannot open `CS' (No such file or directory)
05/Adobe: cannot open `05/Adobe' (No such file or directory)
Photoshop: cannot open `Photoshop' (No such file or directory)
CS: cannot open `CS' (No such file or directory)
8.0/setup.exe: cannot open `8.0/setup.exe' (No such file or directory)

anybody know why this happened? I think it have something to do with my fstab file.

First run winecfg and check if there is an alias D: for / (in the Drives tab)
Than run wine /mnt/cdrom/media/Photoshop\ CS\ 05/Adobe\ Photoshop\ CS 8.0/setup.exe (all blanks predecessed with backslash)

hey it worked but not quite! I got this
Code:
wine: could not load L"G:\\Adobe Photoshop CS 8.0\\setup.exe": Bad EXE format for
I think its more like a mounting problem..
