copy/paste help

I feel really stupid for asking... I am trying to copy text from a file and paste it on the internet but cannot. I opened emacs and highlighted the file, selected copy then opened my browser but when I try to select paste, the option is greyed out. I tried the old dos method of rightclicking, but that does not work either. What am I doing wrong? I am on RH8 using Netscape as a browser.

paste text onto the Internet? Onto a board such as this one or directly onto a page? If you are copying information from one form to another it may be that you are introducing gaps somewhere that go beyond the boundaries of the textbox. Have you tried copying and pasting from text to text?

If your mouse has three buttons (or two buttons and a wheel), you can "Middle-click" after highlighting something.

Highlight the text that you want to copy, and middle-click on the target, and the text copies.

If your mouse doesn't have three buttons, you can set it up to emulate middle-click when you press both buttons at the same time.

It is for a board similar to this one. I tried copy/paste from text to text, no results. What am I doing wrong?

Smile

I used openoffice.org to copy/paste the text. Thanks for the help though.
