Compiz Problems

When I create a new window while running Compiz, it always appears above and behind the Gnome menu bar, so the only way I can close it is by right clicking the taskbar etc, which is a drag.

Is there any way I can avoid this? I've tried looking into the "Put" settings and enabled Avoid Offscreen but it doesn't work.

And now that I've uninstall Compiz, it still does it for some reason!

Thanks in advance.

... for "put" try "smart" or "centered". But make sure you are up to date.

Please help us help you: edit your profile to include location and distro. Thank you.
