compile Xorg

Hey all,

I thought I'd give recompiling X.org a go, seemed like something fun to do and I wanted to get 6.8.1 to try playing with the slightly more stable composite extension. I've downloaded the source, followed the instructions but I couldn't find a relevant README.xxxxx in ./xc/programs/hw/xfree86/doc so I didn't worry about that. I did make World, make install and it didn't work. /etc/X11 has some files and directories but no X or startx or anyhting like that. So I tried make Everything and make install, same story. make install.man didn't help obviously and I'm at a loss. It's probably something stupid but I've made just about everything I can make, run make clean and started again with no success, any ideas would be much appreciated

X and startx should be in /usr/X11R6/bin. To find out how to build and configure it read http://lfs.securewebservices.co.uk/b...ling.html#xorg

Followed those instructions exactly and I still have no /etc/X11/bin It's just not there, any ideas what I did wrong? When I run a find on ~/xc (source) it's built Xorg and the other programs and startx is there but it's not installing it right or something...
