My son is a dedicated Linux user (I'm pretty sure he uses a Gentoo distro). He has a laptop and I want to buy him a wireless keyboard/mouse. I've seen good-looking keyboards from Microsoft ((wireless Optical Desktop 3 Comfort) and Logitech. Do experienced Linux users have any advice? I know we had some issues choosing a wifi card before we found a Netgear one that was happy with Linux rather than XP. Any advice gratefully received. (BTW, I'm only ignorant about Linux, being a dedicated Mac user!)

one thing you could do is browse through the LQ Hardware Compatibility List... specifically, the "I/O Devices" category: http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/index.php?cat=29

there's several wireless mice and keyboards in there with ratings of 10.0...

Thanks - looks like a Logitech cordless would be a good choice.
