Post Checking RAID levels


Hi ,

Please let me know how to check the hard disks status (good/bad) and RAID levels used on SUSE. Thank you

Herewith copying the RAID Controller info and fdisk info.


RAID bus controller: Compaq Computer Corporation Smart Array 5300 Controller

Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 bytes

Hp

Not formiluar with open suse, but hp has some software that works with centos. You should check out theyr website.

For software raid, use the mdadm utility. For hardware raid, use the raid card manufacturer's utilities. The distro doesn't really matter for this, it's more or less the same on any of them.
