C++ developement environments?

Hi, I'm looking for a short list of development environments for C++ using gnome. I really like Visual C++ 6.0 when writing Win32 apps. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for C++ specific development environments for Linux... or more general linux programming environments that will allow me to manage a large number of headers and seperate files that are a single project...

thanks
