I just installed gentoo for the fourth time, and when I rebooted the first time, it came up to a blank screen and did nothing.

It is a dual boot system with Window$ XP on /dev/hda and gentoo on /dev/hdb

Here is my lilo.conf file

my physical drives are two 40 gig quantums
/dev/hda is my windows partion which works and I can log in
/dev/hdb is my gentoo parition

/dev/hdb1 is /BOOT it is 32M
/dev/hdb2 is Swap it is 2048M
/dev/hdb3 is my home dir

I am running an Athlon XP 2000 with 1G of RAM.

I think it is something to do with the conf file itself, but with the black screen I haven't been able to do anything....

any help is Appreciated.....

I had a similar problem when i tried to use genkernel, (I have a Athlon XP 2100), I ended up manually configuring my kernel. I'm guessing the lilo.conf was almost veratim from the Gentoo handbook, so barring any spelling errors, I doubt that's the problem.

...... Took me six times, and i haven't quite got X to work...... but i'm learning a lot.......
