Bionicpup32 Updates

Hello all -

My question is:

When Bionicpup32-8.0-UEFI.iso is updated, what is updated?

I ask because:

Bionicpup32-8.0-UEFI.iso = 280,576 kb

Bionicpu32-8.0-UEFI+26.iso = 280,576 kb

I cannot find any reference to additions, bug fixes or improvements on the download site which I feel would be helpful.

So if you know what I don't please tell, thanks

Best regards

Chelsea80

From file size those appear the same. Maybe if you provided a link to where you got that data we could have a chance to give an informed answer. If you did some in depth research there you might find your own answer.

The forums for puppy are linked directly off the download page and I expect users there could answer the question.

I cannot find the +26 file at the downloads site.

Hello computersavvy -

Thanks for your reply -

The download sight is https://sourceforge.net/projects/zes...atest/download -

I know it says 274 but after downloaded checked against the one I am using (no +) and they are both the same size -

It's not mission critical as it is no pain to make a new boot usb from the ISO -

Just me being interested as to what has changed, and possibly, why -

I have run both and can not see any marked difference -

Also the heading at boot time on both is:

Bionicpup 19.03-Linux 4.9.163-LXPup-32-PAE i686 -

Strange old world isn't it -

Best regards

I just downloaded the one from sourceforge with the +26 and the one from ibiblio without the +26. The checksums are identical so there apparently are no differences except the name.

Hello computersavvy -

Thanks for following that through -

It could be the name has changed due to differnet download sites (clutches at straws) -

Yes checksums are the same: MD5, SHA1, CRC32 -

Perhaps that's why I couldn't notice any run difference, because there isn't any (der!)-

Well that's taught me a lesson, check the checksum in future -

One day I might be in a position to give some help to a question as I have received from you -

I am going to try to clear-delete-shut down-stop this and my Puppy Forum thread, if only I knew how to -

Unless 'Solved' is the ony tag that can be applied - If it's not seen anymore you know I've won -

Many thanks for your interest -

Update

Please be advised that for the most part, that update applies (mostly), to those of us using that puppy in a "frugal" install. Further info is provided at: https://forum.puppylinux.com/. (Open the appropriate distro folder.)
