AutoInstall not running

Okay, here's a real head-slapper. Suse's AutoInstall dosen't wanna' run.. The bloody PC just boots up to Lycoris's boot manager (I have both Lycoris & WinME on this system).
I checked the BIOS to make certain that the machine is set to boot from the CD-ROM, and it is! (My Windows is set to launch from a bootable CD, so I was already pretty certain of that fact).

Any guesses?

my Mandrake 9.0 would'nt auto-install. and I had to change my BIOS settings so that my CD-rom would be 'auto detected' even if my cd-rom already worked without the auto detect.

Do other bootable CD's work? Did you buy the CD's or did you download iso's. If downloaded did you verify the checksums and are the CD's good i.e. you have files and directories not just an iso image copied to the CD.

If bought, on loan etc. can you verify the install CD boots on another PC? If so and you know that other CD's boot on your ROM drive then it might not be compatable with your hardware.
