I just started using linux. I installed the mandrake 10.0 and it works properly. A few bugs but not a something that i can't handle. However yesterday a new problem started. WHen i try to run some application like xmss or licq or totem it start's and then immeditlly close. What can i do?
Here it is. My knowledje in linux is not one of my strongest sides/ but can you tell me why xmms crash only when i try to play the mp3 ?
libGL.so.1: cannot handle TLS data
libGL.so.1: cannot handle TLS data
libGL.so.1: cannot handle TLS data
libGL.so.1: cannot handle TLS data
Thanks but i just lack of experience to understand what was written there
i tried to rpm -q --whatprovides libGl.so.1
but the answer was that no package provides that
what am i doing wrong
it's the same problem there
This tells you that the libGL.so.1 library is in the XFree86-Mesa-libGL-4.3.0-2 package.
So, what you need to do is find that package (Google is your best friend here) and install it. The only sticky point is that you'll either need to find a Mandrake based source for this package or else find a way to convert whatever package you DO find into a Mandrake installable package. If Mandrake uses rpm (and I suspect it does), it may or may not be the same as RedHat's rpm.
Unfortunately, not being familiar with how Mandrake handles packages and what not, I can't give you a definitive answer on this issue. I know that when I need a library that isn't available as a Slackware .tgz file (similar to rpm), I found a utility that can usually convert a RedHat rpm file to a Slackware .tgz file and then I can install it through Slackware's package management system.
thats exactly what i did before but the message was that
/home/getafix/XFree86-Mesa-libGL-4.3.0-2.i386.rpm: untrue signature ((SHA1) DSA sha1 md5 (GPG) (MISSING KEY) GPG#db42a60e NOT OK)
when i try to continue i get this
file /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.2 from install of XFree86-Mesa-libGL-4.3.0-2 conflicts with file from package libxfree86-4.3-30mdk
i tried a coule of files
that's was before i asked
