Any USB microphones that works well in Linux

Sorry that I write this thread in the Newbie section. Just got frustrated in the hardware section of this forum.

So far, I have a Logitech USB microphone and I have no idea how to operate this in my Ubuntu 8.04.

Are there any USB microphones out there that is very compatible to Linux?

Thank you.

I have a Logitech camera with a USB microphone, it works fine.

Open a terminal and type: lsmod | grep usb

If snd_usb_audio exists then your device is probably working, open volume control and see if a second device is accessible.
If you use Skype (for example) then you can change the default sound input device to the USB input device in the options.

I tried to use the volume control in many ways... the Logitech usb microphone (AK5370) doesn't seem to work.

I also tried to use the Sound Recorder in Ubuntu and it still doesn't work.

By the way,

This might be a 7.04 tip for the Logitech USB microphone, is it applicable for 8.04?

Or should it be a good idea if I just upgrade my Ubuntu to 8.10?

You could just try a 8.10 CD, boot into it and see if the USB mic works
