Hi,
First of all this is my first day in using / installing Linux so If I write anything wrong or stupid please do ignore, Thanks.

I am trying to install CentOS 6.6 i386 by using VMware workstation 8 my installation is stuck and shows below message can anyone help me on this. By the way I am using Windows 8.

Quote:
Running anaconda 13.21.229, the CentOS system installer - please wait.
15:28:08 Starting graphical installation.
anaconda: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :1. install exited abnormally [1/1]
The system will be rebooted when you press Ctrl-C or Ctrl-Alt-Delete.

With CTRL + ALT + Fn (where n is a number between 1 and 6) you get access to terminal windows during the installation. This allows you to run basic commands like 'dmesg' or 'cat /tmp/*log' (IIRC logs are in /tmp) to help diagnose what's going on under the hood. (If unsure siphon 'dmesg' output and logs off of the machine and post relevant excerpts in your reply.) Alternatively you may try the text-based installer if you're low on RAM or require display drivers that don't ship with the installer.

The exact same issue

I got the exact same fatal issue CentOS 6.6 i386, VMware workstation 8, on Window 8. I am surprised to find that this is the only thread on the web on this issue.
Or is there due to some real simple set up?

I don't know if you're only interested in making a "me too" post or if you have actually read it but in my reply I have outlined some commands to gather information. I suggest you start there and also visit the appropriate bug tracker to look for similar issues.
