Westell 327W Verizqn model to substitute for Bellsouth model
Both to have a spare and as a workaround until I find a fix for wireless on one computer that worked on Kubuntu 7.04 but won't connect wirelessly under 7.10, I bought another 327W an eBay. It's a D90-327W-06 Rev. D; the one that still works is Rev. C of the same. I have tried comparing the setup screens on the two using tow computers and as far as I can see I have everything in place.
Two wired computers can ping each other, the router, and the printer (through a JetDirect J6038A). One of those two can communicate with the third computer (across the hall) only on the "C" model. The tow computers having wireless cards recognize both networks. The "D" model is not getting through authorization and I wonder if an extra step in required for the Verizon model. As the setup screens aren't identical, it's hard to be sure I have everything the same.
One potential problem is that I can't get the D to use the same IP addresses as the C model, except for the printer (xxx.xxx.1.95). That is in the C range. The D insists on making everything else in the 40s.
If I can get the D to connect to the internet, I can better solve the wireless problem without as much down time from the internet.
