I wonder for what reason usually working vpn access would be denied ? It happened after a blackout in Montréal last Tuesday.
I use companie's vpn router (linksys box) placed between cable modem and Linux Debian Etch machine. After rebooting modem/router, I gave new IP adress to IT administrator. He authorised access to this adress and all its subnetwork, but when I try to run a vnc client, it waits a little while and says "Unable to connect to VNC server". I also use an rdesktop, the message is "ERROR: connect: Connection timed out". I also try to use a remote desktop connection from a Windows machine, it cannot connect neither.
Is it my Debian configuration ? Provider configuration ? Linksys box problem ? Companie's authorisation issue ?
It's pretty hard to say from here - could be that the openvpn service didn't restart, the route lost it's forwarding, someone didn't save firewall changes. You'll need to look at each stage of the setup and see what's not happening.
