Urgent," up2date" extremely makes mistakes while upgrading!


Urgent," up2date" has died while upgrading , can't be upgraded automatically when and then with" up2date", Make mistakes as follows:

I just ran up2date my RH8 (2.4.20-18-8) install and saw the same result. Actually, the first attempt hung during install phase and I was obliged to kill it after 30 minutes. Seems it got as far as changing the XFree86 config files but stopped short of doing the actual update. I tried manually updating XFree86 but RPM says it's already installed...

Advice on how to recover would be appreciated.
