Unhappy SuSE 9.2 Internet over LAN to Router

I am hoping that someone can help me with a frustrating problem. I have just installed SuSE 9.2 pro and am unable to connect to the internet through my home network. I have upgraded from Mandrake 10.1 community where I was able to connect just fine. I also tested that computer by booting Dynobolic from a LXF cover disk and was able to configure and connect immedaitly. I Have DSL with a Dlink DI-604 router which has a secondary switch connected to it that that computer is conected to. I have been able to configure Samba to connect to other network computers and also have been able to connect to the network print server. I have tried static and DHCP IP addresses.

Any suggestions, I am really looking forward to using SuSE 9.2.

Many Thanks

I had a similar problem until I found a message in the boot output to the console saying that there was some kind of probem with the IPv6 kernel module. So I disabled it and it know works fine using IPv4.

You said:
"I have been able to configure Samba to connect to other network computers and also have been able to connect to the network print server."

Could you please tell me how to do that? My circumstances are very similar toy yours: SuSE 9.2 and a router through which I keep a home lan between Windows XP and this computer (it runs fine on Windows, but I haven't been able to connect through Samba yet).
