Sharing directories outside of /home...

As the title states, I am trying to share two directories outside of my home directory. These directories are /usr1 and /usr2. These directories are independant from the /usr directory and have nothing to do with it. I have two HD's on my machine. One of them is partitioned Like so:

|---/---||-swap-||--------------------------------------/usr1------------------------------------|

The other, hdb, is set up like this:

|--------------------------------------------/usr2-------------------------------------------------|

My OS is Mandrake 10.0 and this box is a server. I am trying to share these directories for a samba, NFS, and FTP server. I'm not sure if there is a file to edit so I use the GUI. When I use the properties dialog box with Konqueror, I get a message in the "sharing" tab that directories outside my home directory cannot be shared. Is this true? If so, how can I move them to /home so that I may share them?

Any input is appreaciated. Thank you for your time!

UPDATE: Found my problem with sharing. Now I can't seem to log in to the shares from my XP machine through Samba. Got some reading to do.
