Unhappy Sending mail

Hi guys,

I have a problem which I think is half solved.
Until last monday I was using

mail -s "Log" myaddress@mycompany.com < /pathtolog/logfile

to receive the log files generated by my PC back home on my work desktop PC.
However since yesterday I have been unable to send mails because my modem's IP entered the CBL anti-spam list which my server uses. I found that this was due to the e-mail's sender

mktc@localhost.localdomain

which, as you can see, has the localhost.localdomain at the end.
I managed to ask for the exclusion of my IP from that list - half of the problem solved.

The other half: how can I change/configure the mail?

Thanks.

You should edit your /etc/hosts. Take a look at this post.

Does that mean that inside /etc/sysconfig/network I should edit this line

HOSTNAME=localhost.localdomain

and change localhost.localdomain for something like qwerty.com and the next time I send an email it will be sent as

blababla@qwerty.com ?

Will any other programs suffer from this change?
Thanks.

I suggest you to use your ISP's domain as domainname and not use something like qwerty.com, i.e.
Code:
HOSTNAME=my-box.my-isp.com
