Rep:
respawn pppd on disconnect?
my situation is as follwows
redhat 7.2 linux connected palmpilot via ppp
but currently i have to manually run pppd every time i connect the pilot as pppd dies uppon disconnect, how can i get it to automatically respawn after the piot disconnects so i can connect again without manually starting pppd?
There is a file called /etc/ppp/peers/provider. It might not be called provider but that's the default. Edit it and add the line "persist" to it. That will make pppd redial whenever it disconnects at the remote end.
