I'm having a bit of a weird problem, namely i cannot seem to get my laptop to connect to eltex 5ghz router. It works fine on all other networks (which are 2ghz tbh) but whenever i try to connect to eltex 5ghz network, it refuses me.
It will accept the password, go through 4 steps handshake just fine, but gets stuck on DHCPDISCOVER.
I would think of it as DHCP issue BUT, i even tried to set static IP in valid parameters, like subnet, gateway etc. But still fails.
I'm having a real struggle with this one.
I've got packets sniffed with wireshark but it doesn't give me anything really.
When i try with automatic ip, i get 4 step handshake, MDNS query and DHCPDISCOVER.
When i set an IP to auto, i get stuck on ARP query. That is it will broadcast asking for who has 192.168.1.1 but gets no response.
I also tried MAC spoofing without gain.
I'm using Fedora 28, Cinnamon desktop with NetworkManager installed.
HP Laptop.
Does anyone have any idea?
EDIT:
OK! Just figured out that this is a Fedora issue, not eltex per say.
I booted into systemrescuecd, which is i don't even know what it is, tried to connect to wifi there, worked like a charm.
I even tried plugging the Ethernet cable directly to laptop, doesn't work on fedora, works on systemrescuecd.
Even tried settings static ip while directly connected on fedora.
What the hamster do i do now?! :/

most probably it is the driver of the wifi on the laptop. You would need to check if the correct driver was in use (or probably you can try to install it).
@sevendogsbsd i always use it when i need to do some maintenance. systemrescuecd is good for stuff like that.
@pan64 Well, it's using standard iwlwifi which it's supposed to use for Intel Wireless adapter.
When i check intels' site, they are also suggesting iwlwifi. And, as i said, it's not just wifi, when i connected the ethernet cable as well, it also didn't work. Same symptoms.
Refusal to get IP, when i add static IP, refusal to get MAC of gateway via ARP. Damn weird, really.
