RedHat9/WinXP Networking

This one should be fairly simple.

I have RedHat9 dual booting with Windows XP. On another computer I have just Windows XP. They can both ping eachother and both can access the internet.

The problem I have is that I want the computer with just Windows XP to be able to see a FAT32 drive that RedHat9 is mounting (I don't want to mess with my NTFS partitions).

There are no problems mounting the drive. I just want to make it avaliable to the other computer on the network.

Thanks!

You will need to add an entry to smb.conf (the samba config file) there are plenty of examples in the default one to get you going. After that you just need to start samba an you should be able to access the computer by viewing your workgroup on windows XP

Ok, I added the following into my smb.conf file:

workgroup = MSHOME
[homes]
comment = Home Directories
browseable = yes
writeable = yes
valid users = %S
create mode = 0664
directory mode = 0775

[FAT]
path = /mnt/FAT
guest ok = yes
writeable = yes
comment = 3GB FAT32 Drive
printable = yes

The Windows XP computer doesn't see anything. Does SAMBA automatically start with RedHat 9 or do I have to manually start it? I can get the GUI for SAMBA to come up and it shows the [FAT] share correctly.

Also, is there anything that needs to be configured on the Windows XP machine?
