Qmail Email. Some emails are duplicated.

I have a email server running qmail + SA + qmail + vpopmail. Recently some of my users have complained that some emails are coming in duplicated. It seems to be random amounts of coming in double or even triple of the same ones while some of the emails are left alone. Any guesses?

Thanks
Justyn

Are they leaving a copy of the messages on the server at all? We currently use qmail at work (in the process to switch to postfix cause well, its better) and it seems everytime a user who starts complaining about dup emails, its always their client, which is usually Outlook that is to blame, cause they're leaving messages on the server and its Outlook along with qmail that is at fault not remembering which emails they've downloaded or not, etc.

I dont think they are. Because in the web based client (squirrelmail) it lists the email twices. And its not every email. Its random amounts of email. Sometimes its 2 or 3 emails that are duplicated. Sometimes its 10-20. Any other guesses?

I suggest posting the headers of these emails. Each message should have a datestamp and unique identifier that will tell you if the messages were duplicated or if they were seperate messages entirely. Just pick 2 messages that seem to be alike and look at the source of the message. The headers should be near the top.
