problems with keeping settings for cable Broadband

I am currently running mandrake 10.1 on my laptop i have mange to setup my cable broadband to surf the net by loading a manual driver "usbenet(USB Host-to-Host Link Drivers (numerous venders)) "

My problem is when i reboot my laptop I can't connect to the internet i have to remove the previous connect and go through the process of adding the connection again, before i can access the net. When i click on the network icon in the system tray and try to connect by clicking the button it says i have "issufecent rights" can anyone give me a starting point on where to start a what to do?.. another thing is that am using the USB connection for internet access an NOT the RJ45 LAN/WAN cable
