Not able to connect to the internet (I suspect my network card to be the problem)

I have a problem configuring my internet connection (DSL). I think the problem is my network card. During the initial installation of Slackware 9.0 (boxed set) it was not found. But during boot I see this line :

eth0: 100/10M Ethernet PCI Adapter at 0xa000 00:02:44:15:f5:db , IRQ 11

My network card is a Sandberg 100/10M Ethernet card, the print on it says Sandberg-320x-S1/1B.

In WinXP I connected by typing "telnet signon.telia59" in a command line (Start -> Run...) I would then type my user id and my password. I've tried setting up rp-pppoe to do this but it just times out. According to the Slackware book there should be a /etc/rc.d/rc.netdevices file but it isn't there. Neither are any lines uncommented in the network device section of rc.modules.
Should I buy a new network card that has a line in rc.modules ?
Does it matter that my ISP requires me to log on the way I do ?

By the way, I do not have a static IP, and I used to be able to connect to .flexrate.dk and signon.telia.dk with my browser without logging on (my ISP offered this way as a more secure way to log on as opposed to telnet) but when I start mozilla it simply says that it wasn't able to connect.

Do I need to configure Mozilla ?

Another bit of info :
when I type ifconfig it shows me some info about eth0 and lo. I don't have that info at the moment since I'm typing this at my school but if it's important I'll post it.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, we'll need to see the output of three commands:

lspci
ifconfig
netstat -nr

Cheers--

I got it figured out myself using those 3 commands. Figures I needed the Myson driver.

Thanks though, you helped me learn alot =)
