NIC only acting as a 10 Mbps instead of 100 MBps

Hi..
Ive got a 10/100 Mbps switch and a 10/100 capable Dlink NIC...but when I connect the NIC to the switch it does only light up the orange "10Mbps" led...and not the green "100 MBps Led"...all the other pcs "XP" are 100Mbps on the same switch using identical NICs..
Any suggestions are welcome
Thx

Are you using standard CAT5 cabling? Also, you may have to explicitly tell the nic to use 100 instead of 10, though I don't know how to do this in Linux.

Definately check your cabling. Try switching cables too, if possible, because that might solve the problem altogether.

If not the cable then you can use ethtool to define the parameters for the nic.

Well the cable is allright I checked ..taht..I will check the nic params..although the same brand is working fine other PCs..but..I remember a tool to force the NIC to use a rate instead of it negotiating a rate...something like Miitool..mitool..I dont really remember...

You are referring to mii-tool.
