I am looking into what I think is a performance problem on my NFS.
While copying a file I can see the following:
- kB per operation go from 1024 bytes down to 4.28 bytes per op and anywhere in between
- RTT (round trip time) avg of 50ms
- kB/s avg of 60kB (decrease to 15kB when 4.28 bytes per op)
If you can help me with where to look I sure would appreciate the help.
Also, if you have articles for me to read (for nfs config of parameters, etc) that would be great as well.

Are you using

async
on both the server and client. This is known to improve performance in some cases. I found this, which solved a similar problem for a user

Try using (rw,async,no_root_squash) in /etc/exports and mounting with -fstype=nfs,rw,noatime,nodiratime,async on the client.
