need help adding printer in cups, through SMB4K (samba)

ok, I've been trying to add a printer my network. However when I go to the cups configuration page, it asks for a printer Device URI. how do I find the URI out?

I'm trying to add a printer through cups and smb4K, through a Mandrake 10.1 box. The printer's drivers are fine (HP Photosmart), and printerdrake doesn't seem to be able to find a remote printer. Also, the printer is shared on the windows XP machine, and I can transfer files fine with samba from XP and Mandrake 10.1

The device URI should resemble this.

smb://username:password@WORKGROUP/server/printername

good luck.

just curious, woud /server/ be the IP address computer that the printer is attached to? or would it be the computer's name?

ok, samba can see a printer now on my workgroup, but I cannot mount it, due to an error that states "SMB4K cannot handle printer shares yet".

does anyone know what this means? Google comes up with nothing.

Can you print a test page from cups? Can you see the printer from the cups interface?
good luck.
