Mount doesn't connect to remote server CentOS 5.2

When trying to mount a remote file system hosted on a FreeNAS 0.69 machine, my CentOS 5.2 box will not even make a connection to the FreeNAS machine.

I can telnet to port 2049 from the CentOS machine just fine and no errors are showing up in /var/log/messages from iptables or anywhere else. When telnetting to the NAS machine I can see the remote connection on the NAS machine with netstat. No connections ever appear when using the mount command.

The CentOS machine is also running BIND9 and acting as my DNS server with forward and reverse zones for my internal network. My resolv.conf has the only DNS server listed as itself. Issuing the mount command by ip address or host name doesn't change a thing and it is properly resolving all hostnames, both local and foreign, to the correct addresses.

I thought the issue may be SELinux related, as I had an issue with that when configuring the BIND server, despite no errors being logged in this case. They were for the BIND issue, but just in case I used

Code:
[root@CentOS ~]# yum -y update
to update the whole system, since the BIND/SEL problem was resolved by updating the SEL security profiles. I rebooted too, just for kicks. The result, which was the same result I have gotten from the start, was as follows:

Code:
[root@CentOS ~]# mount -v -t nfs -o rw,hard,intr nas.example.com:/path/to/mount /mount/here
mount: trying 10.10.0.10 prog 100003 vers 3 prot tcp port 2049
mount: trying 10.10.0.10 prog 100005 vers 3 prot udp port 935
mount: mount to NFS server 'nas.example.com' failed: timed out (retrying).
The FreeNAS machine IS listening on these ports, both UDP and TCP:

Code:
c288e570 tcp6 0 0 *.nfsd *.* LISTEN
c288e740 tcp4 0 0 *.nfsd *.* LISTEN
c288e910 tcp4 0 0 *.935 *.* LISTEN
c288eae0 tcp6 0 0 *.935 *.* LISTEN
c288e570 udp6 0 0 *.nfsd *.* LISTEN
c288e740 udp4 0 0 *.nfsd *.* LISTEN
c288e910 udp4 0 0 *.935 *.* LISTEN
c288eae0 udp6 0 0 *.935 *.* LISTEN

I have a CIFS share on the NAS machine for my Windows 7 laptop which connects and works flawlessly, if a bit slowly. I believe the speed is a result of my laptop being connected to the network via 802.11g rather than wired in.

I have only limited Unix/Linux knowledge and most of that is with Debian based systems (Ubuntu). I have been battling and googling this one for several days now. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate suggestions.

Thanks
