Most programs cannot access the internet, some can
Greetings to all.
I use Linux Mint Cinnamon 20.
Two days ago, the power went out for a second. After that, only the Tor browser and the Telegram Desktop application can access the internet. The rest of the programs I normally use (Libre Wolf browser, a password manager, a VPN client, and the Linux Mint Update manager cannot access the internet.
This has happened to me a few times now, during the last year, and eventually it resolved itself without me doing anything. Simply one time I turn on the computer and everything can connect to the internet again.
I tried unplugging and plugging back both the router and the computer, to no avail.
"When the browsers can't reach a web site. Can you get to them by IP? (DNS issue)
Code:
ping -c1 google.com
ping -c1 142.250.190.78"
The first ping you write gave the result: "name or service unknown".
The second one seemed to work normally, it sent and receive a package immediately.
