Ok first off all this is my first go at Linux.
Ive installed Mandrake 9.1 but i cant get it to find my onboard netcard, so i cant go on the internet!!!
My motherboard is a Soltek SL-75FRN-L.
Hope someone can help, and please explain it in n00b´is
Welcome, Nik.dk.
A quick glance shows your onboard card is a Realtek, the RTL8139C.
Could you check, executing "lsmod" as root, if the module is loaded?
Michaelk: your "guess" seems a bit weird an answer for someone looking for their onboard LAN card. Care to elaborate why you posted this?
*Proud: if you're reading this, next time please fill in a suitable reply yourself, OK. This one was way below your threshold.
Michaelk's reply makes some sense, as the nforce downloads are for motherboards, and the problem is with detecting an onboard modem. the Soltek SL-75FRN-L seems to use nForce2.
I cant remember what I posted as reply to this thread, if I even did post a reply, instead of just attract a mod. Sorry if offended anyone, or didnt put in the effort to make a decent reply.
