Question logging into a linux server thru a thin client

I have a Linux server with REd Hat 8.0 on it. We are using a Neoware EON4300s with an x window emulation. we are able to hit the linux server and get a desktop when we are in our Local network, but when we go to another town, we can log in, but can't get the desktop to ever come up. It goes thru a cisco router and firewall. Is there something that has to be setup in the server that allows remote x window access? Any help would be much appreciated.

Welcome to LQ.

How are you trying to start the X session? Over ssh?
