Because so many people keep repeating the same questions over and over both on this forum and in irc channels about linux, I decided to create a 'troubleshooter' in the same style as the ones you find in the Windows help, only better (i.e. it should actually provide a solution and not tell you it cannot help you whatever you choose
)
That's why my intention is to extend the troubleshooter each time somebody has a problem with networking that it cannot help solve.
Quite an ambitious goal, I know, so I'll have to select the least exotic situations first. But I still think it can be of help to those people who just started using linux and are running into the standard set of problems.
Here's a link to the troubleshooter:
ftp://griffon26.kfk4ever.com/pub/lin...ter/index.html
Mind that the current version of the troubleshooter is only the beginning. I encourage people to send in remarks, suggestions or even additional pages I can add.
Please do send me an e-mail if you have a problem and you run into a dead end.
(To get into detail a little more: the troubleshooter is purely html + javascript, so it can also be viewed from an ftp site such as mine or locally if your browser doesn't support it over ftp. Http always works of course.
Most of the pages' formatting is located in a stylesheet and a javascript file, so it doesn't take a lot of effort to add new pages or to change the layout of all pages at once)
Thanx for your time,
Griffon26
P.S. I did a quick check on the internet, but I didn't find anything comparable for linux. If there already is something like this, please stop me from wasting my time and let me know =]
