Unhappy linux networking

I have a T-1 line which is connected to an old IBM mainframe box which i connect to corporate, I'm using a cisco router and want to know if i can also setup my own network using linux as my server and use the mail facility for sales reps and such. How would i get ip address, host name , not sure if this is feasible, but willing to try.

Linux Networking

Can you give me a little more info? Are you the network admin? if so, you should be able to give your linux box it;s own internal ip. Also, if you have a T-1, I'm sure you have a block of external ip's you can give it but you would probably want to NAT an IP adress from your cisco router.

Let me know if this helps
