Thanks .........only one PC ....no others. Not sure how to ping. Used an ADSL router rather than a ADSL modem as its more secure on the net.
Im sure its just a config problem cause Im so new at this I dont know what or how to check. Thanks again any tips appreciated.
What is the ADSL daemon and where do I find it?? Sorry Im very new at this
Used Mandrake Control Centre to config eth0 ...LAN card is Realtek 8169 Gigiabit PCI
Static IP not DHCP
gateway set as IP of router 10.1.1.1
Comp Ip 192.164.0.7

That won't quite work, try setting your IP address to 10.1.1.2 instead of 192.164.0.7, if that doesn't fix it right off then yea post the output from the route command and your resolv.conf.
With the ADSL daemon, as michaelk stated you don't usually need that if your device is a DSL "Router."
Oh, and ping is easy, open a terminal window and type,. "Ping 10.1.1.1" then use CTRL-C to stop it.
Well Tony,
Sounds like you are going about it the wrong way. YOur ADSL Modem/Router ic a combo unit, knowing that you are connected in windoze means you are for sure getting a sync from your server. You should go the the network setup in your mandrake and set it to DHCP as the router will set the internal address. This is esspecially true for you as you only have one computer. One more thing, you may (depending on your internet provider) need to put in DNS server addresses.
