How to conect to windows xp pc

Hi
I new to linux- I just install fedora core 4 to my pc and i want to be able to connect to my laptop using lan. Could you explain how to do this or could you give a link where I can find useful information?

Depends on what exactly you mean by "connect". What are you wanting to do?

For now I just want to have access to my shared directories: from linux to winxp.

That makes more sense.
You would use smbclient

Search in google for smbclient. You can also search these forums for "smbclient" and get things like this.
